This week, we’re talking about beauty.
I’ve given you my opinions.
I say beauty is not in the eye of the beholder.
And I say past generations valued beauty more.
And I’ve asked for your opinions.
But wait – don’t we need more words if we want to talk about beauty?
BEAUTY VOCAB
How do you say that something is beautiful?
If you’re a beginner, you might use:
- lovely
- pretty
- nice
If you’re a little more advanced….
- gorgeous
- stunning
- heavenly
And if you want to sound smart….
- breathtaking
- dazzling
- sublime
But will this list really help you become a better English speaker?
THE SOLUTION
Vocab lists are a dime a dozen (translation: very common).
Yet another list is not what you need.
You need to remember words for years.
You need to remember words quickly in conversation.
And you need to use words correctly.
(Which of these words do you use for people and which do you use for buildings and places?)
What’s the solution?
Listen to today’s Atomic Homework to get a very practical vocabulary lesson.
