Last night was poker night at my apartment.
All the YouTube lessons must have paid off.
Because I won!
But the big pile of chips in front of me wasn’t enough.
I was greedy: I wanted more.
“Who wants to go to the casino?” I asked my friends.
No one wanted to go.
They were afraid of losing more money.
I wanted them to think about fun and not about money, so I added:
“Let’s go just for kicks.”
KICK #3
This week, we’re exploring Atomic Word # 1,791: kick.
We started easy.
We talked about the verb, to kick.
We talked about the very common phrasal verb, to kick off.
Then we talked about what it means to kick a bad habit.
And now we’re going to talk about…
JUST FOR KICKS
If you do something “just for kicks” you do it for fun.
Or maybe you’re curious; you want to see what will happen.
Try it!
Begin a sentence with “Just for kicks, I….”
And tell me about a time you…
A) Googled yourself
B) Spoke English to a waiter
C) Or checked how much a flight to _____ would cost
D) Something else?
Cheers,
Mr. Vig

Just for kicks, when I goodled myself, I found out very interesting things = what the others can find out about me.
By the way, nothing, it’s just a virtual world.
Just for kicks, I have to speak English to a waiter…
Just for kicks, I was curious what Kicking bird in Dance with Wolves is meaning.
I really liked the character who had that name.
BTW, the word kiks in Slovak is a colloquial expression that indicates a mistake, misstep or failure.
At last on a positive note: Victory has real value when we can share it.
Let´s try it.
Good luck to everyone in everything, wherever you are.
