The Right Time To Complain

Hello from Ljubljana!

I’m here for a Vig Village weekend meetup.

I was here once before about twenty years ago.

My ex and I borrowed her father’s car and I drove the whole way from the Czech Republic – without a license!

But yesterday, I flew.

I think it’s better.

First, you see the flat fields of Germany.

Then the Alps suddenly shoot up from the ground. (still with snow on top).

And then there’s Ljubljana!

MY AIRBNB

I’m staying at an Airbnb.

It’s got a view of the castle.

Very nice.

But when the sun came up at 6:30 this morning, I didn’t want to see the castle.

Unfortunately, the window had neither curtains nor shades.

I was annoyed.

I was going to write the owner and complain.

I had a fantasy of him rushing over to install some blackout curtains for me just so I wouldn’t write a negative review.

But then, as I was sitting in the kitchen, eating my eggs and looking at the castle, I noticed something.

The kitchen windows have blinds… outside.

So maybe….

Do you see where this story is going?

The lesson: Before you complain, look a little closer.
