“Who comes to Venice to eat Chinese food?”
That’s what I wondered when I discovered a Chinese restaurant yesterday hidden in the maze of Venetian streets.
As I got closer I got my answer: Chinese people come to Venice to eat Chinese food.
It was the same in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
There was a McDonald’s down the street from where I was staying.
Whenever I would walk by, I would see Americans stuffing their faces with Big Macs and french fries.
And I can guarantee you, if you go to an Italian restaurant in Beijing or Bangkok, you’ll find some Italians ordering spaghetti.
Which raises the question: Why leave home if you don’t want to try new things?
Cheers,
Mr. Vig

Venetian people eat chinese food, sometimes!
Hi! I have been to Venice 13 years ago. I don’t remember what I ate there. I remember the gondola rides and Murano glass and…the funniest thing – a street somewhere with footprints drawn on it that led you to the toilet…
