Have you read Atomic Habits, yet?
Such a good book.
Recently, a student reminded me of a story from chapter 11.
It’s a very good lesson for English students.
Maybe it can help your English.
Here it is…
THE EXPERIMENT
One semester, a college professor decided to conduct a little experiment on his students.
With one class, he told them to take pictures every day.
They would be graded on how many photographs they took.
With the other class, he told them they must produce only one photo by the end of the semester; but it has to be a very good photo.
One group was graded on quantity.
The other group was graded on quality.
Which group do you think became better photographers?
The quantity group or the quality group?
Let me know in the comments and tomorrow we’ll talk about how you can use this lesson to improve your English.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
Can you really speak better English in just one month?
I believe you can.
Here’s how: https://confident-conversation-master.lovable.app/

quality 🫣
It’s really interesting. I think it’s both, because more quantity makes higher quality.
both possibilities are likely –
-the first had a lot to choose from
-the second could have been a good photographer or he could have been lucky
Hi, for sure, quantity 🙂 not to be perfectionist, and your life become easier and happier 🙂
Very interesting. I asked AI and surprisingly this time the answer made sense:
quantity leads to quality.
Focused on quantity it´s necessary to pay attention to warehouse and logistics
Nobody can take a perfect picture, like nobody can speak foreign language perfect. So, winner in this experiment is definitely group who takes many pictures, because with many pictures they became better and better, no matter on mistakes they made, and they became more confident than group who try to find something perfect , but realy they stay on same place and do nothing. They don’t have succes. It’s very simmilar with mr Vig learning method
In my opinion, to win quality at first you need quantity, you need practice, exercise.
It depends on a goal. If you are making pictures automatically only for quantity the answer first group. But if you are a smart student with every next shout you will notice the quality of it. So then more you made then better experienced you are! Form the other side if you need the best picture at the and you should make a lot before to have a choice. So i think we have not enough data to make a clear conclusion.
The quantity group became better photographers
I think the group that did something every day won. If you do a little bit every day, the end result will be better. I guess that was the main goal of the experiment.
I guess both groups are iqual becaus repitition can lead to good quality. There is a proverb en french that says ” a forece de forger, on devient forgeron” . thank you so much Mr. Vig
I changed my mind ! The quality group became better photographers even if they need the quantity to improve and become the best photographers
I think the quantity one because practice makes perfect. They experience a lot as photographers and their learn about another hobby or work
