Winter seems like a popular time to get sick.
But not for me.
I like to be different.
So I caught something on the first day of summer.
But what did I catch?
COLD VS FLU VS BUG
I didn’t catch a cold; there was no coughing or sneezing and I didn’t have to blow my nose.
I didn’t have the flu, either: there was no fever and it didn’t last very long.
It must have just been a bug.
Translation: a short, mild illness.
Now here’s the mistake I often hear.
When you’re sick, you use “catch” or “have” or “get.”
But when the temperature is low, and you don’t have your coat on, you say, “I’m cold.”
See the difference?
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
