It’s 100 Degrees!

That’s what the thermometer in Prague says today.

What is that in Celsius?

Bo-ring!

Here’s my recommendation for having more fun this summer:

Switch to Fahrenheit.

Not only will you impress your friends and family with your new English skills, but you’ll also confuse them with your new temperatures.

Like a real American!

WHY I PREFER IMPERIAL

Yes, the metric system is logical.

But the imperial system is natural.

It evolved over thousands of years.

It’s connected to the world around us.

For example:

An inch is the width of a thumb—kinda.

A foot is, well, a foot—sorta.

A yard is the distance from your body to your fingertips—roughly.

And a mile is the distance you can walk in twenty minutes—depending on how fast you walk.

You can see and feel those distances.

But the metric system is artificial.

It was created by a government committee.

So I vote for natural, even if it is a little messier.

And as a bonus, when you switch to Fahrenheit, sometimes you get to shock people by telling them, “It’s 100 degrees today!”
