Do you like Munster?
What about Limburger?
Or Vieux Boulogne?
What do these cheeses have in common?
They’re all stinky.
Stinky cheeses.
And when you cut into them, that’s when you can really smell them!
Which brings us to today’s cheese idiom…
WHO CUT THE CHEESE?
Did you hear about President Biden’s visit to the UK a few years ago?
The highlight (for me) was when he and his wife were standing around at some event talking with Camilla
At the time she was Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
And in a few years, she would become Queen Camilla.
No one remembers the event or the conversation.
But what made the news was that Biden cut the cheese.
In front of royalty — ha!
Don’t believe me?
I read it on the internet, so it must be true.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
Let’s talk about all the different ways you can talk about cutting the cheese, and no, I’m not talking about Munster.

And I cut the Emmentaler, the most famous cheese in Switzerland, in front of my wife! By the way, Emmentaler is the cheese with the big holes.
