I’m going to a funeral.
I have a black jacket.
Now I need pants.
Claude told me to buy dark gray trousers.
The shop assistants told me to buy black.
I bought gray.
But I’m still not 100% sure I made the right choice.
Then I took my black jacket out of the closet.
I haven’t worn it since my niece’s wedding in 2019.
And…
It wasn’t clean!
But it was too late to take it to the cleaner.
So last night I cleaned my funeral jacket myself with water and tape.
It’s still not clean, but it’s cleaner than it was before.
Oh well.
I don’t think anyone will care.
But you know who would have cared?
My mother.
She had very high standards for my appearance.
When I was a teenager, I had long hair.
She hated it.
She always wanted me to dress better.
And she was never quite satisfied.
Which means, when I go to the funeral, the only person who would notice that my pants don’t match and care that my jacket isn’t clean…
Is the one person who can’t say anything about it.
So I think I’ll be fine.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig

My deepest condolences for your loss… Peaceful sleep to your Mother 🕊
Oh Ryan,it is not so important if your pants are black or dark grey but your feelings are important
I suggest you to remember the most butiful memories you have with your mother and keep it in your mind forever. Sometime parents get wrong but for sure they love us.
Next, if you ask me ,I don’t think it’s fit wearing a totally black suit…I don’t know, simply because it’s not about you feel outside but inside ..
Condolences!🙏
