Yesterday was a travel day.
Usually, travel days are full of unpleasant surprises.
A surprise traffic jam.
A delayed flight.
A canceled flight.
Who is this large, smelly person sitting next to me?
But this travel day was filled with…
UNEXPECTED DELIGHTS
My flight wasn’t until 9 PM.
So what was I going to do all day?
Back to work, of course.
I searched for “co-working” on Google Maps.
Found a place.
Walked 13 minutes.
Knocked on the door.
Asked to see the manager.
Explained my situation and asked to buy a day pass.
But she wouldn’t let me!
She said, find a spot, work all day, here’s the wifi code, there’s the coffee machine, let me know if you need anything.
And you don’t have to pay anything!
Wow.
Later that evening, I was at Gara de Nord train station on my way to the airport.
I must have looked lost.
Because a woman — a total stranger — approached me and said, “You look like you need to buy a ticket.”
I told her I did.
She said, “You have to go over there.”
How nice!
And then the train was 45 minutes late and I almost missed my flight but I didn’t care!
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
Today’s Atomic Word is “pass.”
I used one meaning in today’s story.
But there are more you need to know!
