Hello from Nomad Fest!
This week, I’m attending an event for digital nomads, former nomads and wannabe nomads.
As you may imagine, they’ve got some interesting stories.
Let me introduce you to some of the people I’ve met so far.
A Dutch woman who sold her house last year and now travels around Asia while she coaches couples online who are thinking about divorcing.
An Italian woman living in Sofia. She is engaged to a Bulgarian tour guide. And she teaches foreigners living in Italy not to be afraid to speak Italian. (Did you know people are afraid to speak Italian? I didn’t…)
An Indian who quit his job in Silicon Valley, bought a BMW motorcycle in London, and is now riding around Europe.
A Japanese woman who left Tokyo because, as she says, “everyone is the same,” and now spends an hour a day trading crypto currency while she travels.
And the Most-Interesting Prize goes to…
THE GRAFFITI ARTIST
Have you ever met someone who does graffiti?
I never had.
And because I hate graffiti, I always assumed they were teenagers from bad parents.
But this guy was different.
He’s French.
He has a regular job as a designer.
He’s been doing graffiti in Paris for decades.
Now, he lives in the Swiss Alps with his beautiful lawyer fiancée from Colombia.
And when he talked about spraying buildings and metros in the middle of the night in Paris, he made it sound like an exciting adventure.
But I still hate it.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
