10 a.m. in Bansko.
Time for my second cup of coffee.
(I always drink my first cup in bed while reading or just staring out the window.)
I walked into a coffee shop.
I ordered a pour-over.
(That’s what coffee shops call “filtered coffee.” They’re usually overpriced, but they have more flavor than an Americano.)
“Cash or card?” asked the man behind the counter.
“Card,” I said.
He prepared the card reader and placed it in front of me when it was ready.
“Welcome,” he said.
Huh?
WELCOME
I’m sure you know the word “welcome.”
But do you know the right time to use it?
And when not to use it?
(The coffee shop guy should have said, “It’s ready.” Or “Go ahead.“)
Let’s find out!
Imagine it’s your birthday.
You’ve invited friends over to your place.
During the party, there will be one time when you can use “welcome.”
And one time when your guests can use “welcome.”
What are they?
And what exactly will you and your guests say?
Take a moment to think about it.
Then write your guess in the comments.
And tomorrow, I’ll finish the birthday party story so you always know the correct time to use this valuable Atomic Word.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig

In that case I would say ‘Wellcome’ and my guests would say: ‘Thank you very much for the invitation and happy beirthday’.
I think, when I open the door for my guests, I could say “welcome” or/and when all my guests have arrived and I want to greet them all together with a little speech, I could say “welcome”, too.
I have no idea, when the guests should say “welcome”
to answer when you thank them for their presents, I guess
When my guests entering my hallway I would say ,Welcome everyone! And when I thanks my guest for the present, they would have said , You’re welcome!
At the door- opening I would say: “Hi, I´m glad you’re here. Welcome to my Birthday party/Welcome to my house.”
Or “Welcome everybody to my birthday party. I´m so happy, that you followed my invitation and I hope, you’re glad too.”
I say welcome, when my guests arrive at the party.
They say “you are welcome”, when I tank them for the present.
When they left the party, they said me: You are welcome to come to our next party:)
When my guests arrive, I greet them warmly and welcome them into my home. Each guest is offered a welcome drink.
Once everyone has arrived, I give a short welcome speech…
Guest: Happy birthday! This is for you.
Me: Thank you so much! That’s very kind of you.
Guest: You’re welcome.
At the end of the party when my guests are leaving with thanks I would say – You are very welcome.
Guests would say- thank you for your hospitality. We felt so welcome. You made us feel so welcome.
At the beginning, it’s nice to offer a welcome drink.
If I have birthday party and the guests arrive, I say welcome (just before the welcome-drink ). And if I say : thank you for the birthday-gift, the guest could answer: you are welcome.
Yeah! Think the same.
The host:
Thank you for your good wishes
You’re welcome!.
………………the party…………….
The guests:
Thank you for having us
You’re welcome!
Many people say wellcome before you say thank you… didn’t that happen to you?. If I were at my birthday party, I would say thanks and welcome for comming over to my place to my guests. In the other way, they could answer welcome to my thanks and if they bring me a present, to my thanks they would answer, wellcome. Don’t you?
I love pour over Coffee…
The first time ist, when my guests enter my apartment. I say “Welcome”. Finally, before ther go home, polite guests thank vor the nice evening. I wil say “welcome”.
you should say “you are welcome”
You say “welcome” when you greet your guests. The guests say “you welcome” when you thank them for the gifts.
I say « Hi ! welcome » to my friends when they arrive to my place.
When I thank each of them for the gift they gave me, they can reply « you are welcome »
During the party, I can say, “Welcome,” to my guests as they arrive and enter the room. And when the party is over, I think it will be appropriate for my guests to say to me, “Welcome to visit us at our place.”
The host use Welcome when meets his gests and the gests use it when the host thanks for the presents
When I welcome someone to my home, I might say, “Welcome” or “Welcome to my house”. If they thank you, you can answer, “You’re welcome”. I think this is a common source of confusion.
Like all members here I will warmly welcome my guests. Then I will get many presents. And there will probably be one or two bonkers in between. But I know, that’s because my guests want to make the atmosphere extremely fun. And I will say, “Oh, Thank you so much!”. And they will answer, “Ah, you are welcome!”🎉
As a host,I will say “welcome” when guests should arrive at my home. And if it is my birthday, they will bring me a presents. And i will say thank you very much and they will say “you welcome..”
I glad to say hello, Mr Vig. I think that, if it’s my birthday, when my guests arrive, I should say to them, “Welcome.” And if they thank me for inviting them, I can reply, “You’re welcome.”
Or I can say, “Thank you for coming.” And they should reply, “You’re welcome. It’s an honor.” For example.
I should say WELCOME when my guests enter my home. I have no idea when my guest should say WELCOME.
Welcome. When I receive my guests over my place.
The guest say you’re welcome when I thanks their congratulations.
You can say ‘welcome’ when your friends enter your party 🎉 and they can say you are welcome 🤗 when you thank them for the gift they brought you.
