Wow.
This small word is powerful!
Yesterday, I gave you four ways native speakers commonly use the word “pass.”
Then I read the comments from the Atomic Homework members.
They reminded me of two I forgot.
Here they are…
HE PASSED AWAY
A friend from the UK is visiting for a few days.
The last time I saw him was two years ago.
I asked, “How’s your father?”
“I didn’t tell you?” he replied. “He passed away in January.”
I’LL PASS
A friend invited me to a poker game tonight.
But my guest from the UK doesn’t know how to play poker.
So I replied to my friend, “Thanks for the invite, but I’m going to pass.”
MORE?
Is that all?
Did I forget any?
I can think of a few more.
One is kinda funny.
But you’ll have to be an Atomic Homework member to learn them.
