The Saturday before Christmas was the annual Vig Village Christmas party.
We ate, we drank, we played games, we sang… all online.
And due to popular demand, I even performed at the piano.
Although Iβve only had two lessons, I learned how to play a simple version of βSilent Night.β
Was I nervous?
A little.
But I had been practicing a lot.
Now it was time to perform.
The metaphorical spotlight was on me.
I moved the laptop over to the piano.
The Zoom room was silent.
All 84 eyes were on me.
And then I began to play.
It was beautiful. Amazing. Not a single mistake.
βWhat talent!β I could hear my piano teacher saying.
Then one of the Vig Village members interrupted my concert.
βMr. Vig, we canβt hear you.β
Evidently, the audio technology for Zoom is so good, it cancels out all sounds that arenβt your voice, including my piano.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call in English, a dud.

The Christmas Party was entertaining and joyful. We all sang Christmas carols. I always wondered why I didn’t understand the words. But now, I know all the words. The party has two concerts on the agenda, but the ZOOM could not stream them online. We have to find a new technology for the Christmas Party 2026.
