How was your weekend?
Mine was nostalgic.
Do you know what that means?
See if you can figure it out from this story….
THE VIDEO ARCADE
On Sunday I took a trip with a friend.
30 minutes outside of Prague there’s a barn in a field and inside the barn is all the best arcade games from the1970s to 1990s.
I went with an American friend who also remembers the time when arcade games were cool.
I’m talking about games like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Street Fighter….
Each game is a separate machine.
It cost a quarter to play. (I mean, it used to. This weekend we just payed 1,000 kc for the whole day.)
And before the days of Play Station and smart phones, this was a big deal.
So when I was playing them this weekend, I was remembering what it was like to be a kid again.
For example…
One hot August, while my family was vacationing at Virginia Beach, my dad took me and a few friends to an arcade that was much bigger than the one we had back home.
(While you could sometimes find a game or two in a gas station or pizza parlor, a business that had a whole room full of games was called a video arcade.)
He gave us enough quarters to fill our pockets.
And we played for many happy hours.
So that’s why I was feeling nostalgic this weekend.
Now do you get it?
Cheers,
Mr. Vig

Very good
Yes ! I got it!
You became nostalgic because you remembered your childhood.
Nostalgic time, for me don’t mean the desire to come back to the past, it’s only ine time in the present, living a special time using what we have inside us, it’s not a war with the present but the nostalgic time is like to eat a special biscuit with the ingredients from the past
