I’m on vacation!
A Vig Village Vacation.
What’s that?
Well, about five times a year, Vig Village members meet for a weekend in a city in Europe to be tourists and speak English.
This weekend, we’re meeting in Prague and I’m the host.
RAIN OR SHINE
We started at 10 am this morning.
But when I checked the weather yesterday, it said there was a chance of rain.
So I wrote this in the WhatsApp group: “We’ll meet rain or shine so bring an umbrella or hat just in case.”
Translation: It doesn’t matter what the weather will be like – we’re not canceling this event!
And guess what?
It was raining!
And I didn’t want to go for a long walk in the rain.
But I already told them “rain or shine.”
So what did I do?
Plan B!
We met in a nearby cafe, talked and enjoyed some coffee until it stopped raining.
Then we went for a walk!
SUMMER ADJECTIVES
Yesterday, I asked you to share your favorite hot-weather adjectives.
I got:
boiling
roasting
And, “It’s so hot I’m melting.”
Perfect!
I would also like to add “sweltering.”
But don’t say “It’s sweltering hot,” if it’s only 25 degrees outside.
35 – ok; but 25 – I don’t think so.
If you do, someone might say you’re exaggerating.
Or worse, that you’re a drama queen!
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Vig
