Hello from Hong Kong, my newest city.
I’m on my way back to Europe for the winter.
And instead of flying a crazy-long distance in one day, I thought I’d break up the trip and see a new place.
Last week I asked you to choose the city I should visit.
Most of you chose Osaka. (I think Singapore came in second.)
I want to visit both places one day.
But I chose Hong Kong because…
- It’s a quick, “cheap” flight back to Europe
- All my favorite karate movies from childhood were filmed here:
Bloodsport, staring Jean-Claude van Damne, a.k.a. the muscles from Brussels.
Fist of Fury, starring Bruce Lee, an American actor who grew up in Hong Kong.
And A Fist Full of Yen, a ridiculous kung fu comedy.
Here’s the opening scene from this comedy. Look closely and you’ll see why I call this comedy “ridiculous.”
What’s Hong Kong like?
Have you ever visited China Town?
There’s one in San Francisco and New York and London and Milan…
Well, if you have, it’s just like China Town!
Only a lot bigger.
Thanks for sharing! Enjoy!
Your story reminded me of the day when I arrived form Estonia to New York. It was night and there were skyscrapers in lights all around (there are no skyscrapers in Estonia) and suddenly I got the feeling that monkey King Kong is coming soon. I saw this movie when I was a kid. 😀 Have a nice trip!
🤣
Ha!
Thanks for your sharing a interesting story about Hong Kong
