Master the Power Words and understanding and speaking will suddenly be a lot easier.
But sometimes, you want your colleagues to think you went to Harvard.
You want to impress your teenager at home.
You want to flex your vocabulary muscle in front of your new date.
In those situations, a Power Word might not be enough.
You may need to reach for…
A Smart Word
The Smart Word for today is “rusticate.”
When a person who lives in the city needs some peace and quiet in the countryside, he can say, “I believe I shall rusticate to the cottage this weekend.”
In fact, I’m rusticating in Bansko.
Outside my window there are fields and trees and mountains and a stream and sometimes sheep.
Very relaxing.
Want to practice using “rusticate.”
Vig Village citizens can practice with me in Saturday evening’s chat room.
The first question will be: Do you rusticate? Where do you go?
Not yet a member, you can fix that here:
Hi Ryan !
You are a happy Man
A home in countryside is a dream for many peoples
Cheers
Have a nice weekend !
Gabriel
Hi! I am from Bulgaria and I am glad that you rusticate our nature.
Ha, ha, “rusticate” is a good idea, but your stay in Bansko have a lot in common with village life, which is a lot struggle and rough.
Greetings. See you soon.
SMART words! It sounds great!
My husband and I have been retired for a year. We moved to a small town with medicinal water. A total of 5,000 people live here. Our way of being a villager/“rusticate” is to go to the farmer’s market on the weekend, meet a lot of people, talk, shop and then go for a hike in the surrounding hills. It feels good! I recommend to everyone.
Hi Ryan!
There are so many complicated and important and new words these days. It´s so nice to meet the word “rusticate”. This word itself makes me feel good. I wish you to relax and enjoy Bansko in the best sense of this word. Yoy deserve it, because you do so much worthy and good work! Thanks for it!
The best!
Rusticate…
A smart word and and smart effects, too!
When we discuss about rusticating, the summer holidays are the best periods of time to rusticate, to meditate, to change plans and make better plans, to relax…
For me, the best place to rusticate is nearby a watter, a river or a stream. Here, the sound and song of the watter flow, the little drops in the air, the small waves that .become to the side of the river, the grass ,the plants and the little insects, frogs and birds, all of them take away from us the negative energy in our bodies, giving a feeling of peace and calm.
Also I know is good to walk on the earth on your barefoot; it has the same effect.
Have a nice weekend!
Nearby some water as a river, a brook or a lake it is very relaxing for me too. I like it to rusticate in our town by going by wheelchair with my assistent along a small brook in the near of my house. The water is glittering in the sunlight and the ducks are swimming against the current. From time to time the ducks go underground. Watching thìs I can survive even a heatwave..
Cheers,
Gabi
Very nice, Gabi!
When I read the word “rusticate”for the first time, it felt to me that something is getting rusty. Can people living in the countryside get rusty ? Don’t think so. If your staying in Bansko includes many usual “country” tasks as I know them – like cutting the wood, making fire, cleaning the fireplace or bringing water from the stream – the rust on you will soon rub off and it became shine instead. So I wish you your rusticating in the country makes your memories of staying there shiny.
Hello, R. Vig. I was born in the countryside where I live. I work at a big hospital in a big city, but I return home daily with my horses, dogs, trees, and flowers. I can say, therefore, that I’m always rusticating.

Village
Such a relaxing photo with a lot of green trees and plants, the lightning blue sky with only one white cloud in the middle on the top of the hill. Where have you seen this nice perspective, Mastaneh?
This is beautiful landscape near Lahijan, North of IRAN, where I’m living.
I am glad to see you there and practice with you by learning new power words.
Thank you very much.
Thanks for teaching us such useful word in such easy way
Something funny: I learned a new word from my smart flashcards – “crop out”. The funny thing was the ward explanation: “you could crop out of your picture anything unusable, like your wife…..
Rusticate for me is walking in the mountains , sitting on the grass, contemplate nice views, hearing the cry of birds. It’s feeling of exhaustion and happiness.
Hi, I used to live in big cities like Casablanca and now I live in a small village outside Barcelona.
Hi Mr. Vig 😀, do you know that Bulgarians bieve Bansko is a town? Ofcourse, it could look enough rustically.
Have a nice rustication😅!
Hi Mr Vig
My children and I were born and grow in our country’s capital.
We dream rusticate in the countryside.
