Today, we’re correcting a sign I spotted on the streets of Prague.
I’ve seen many signs with many mistakes all over the world, but it’s unusual to find three mistakes without turning your head.
So on to mistake number the second two!
‘!
The next mistake is an apostrophe mistake.
Our restaurateur (someone who owns a restaurant) wrote “burger’s.”
That’s correct if you want to say a sentence like, “The burger’s wallet was stolen.”
The apostrophe tells us what belongs to the burger.
But in these dark times, when burgers have no rights, not even the right to own propert, the right to marry the pizza they love, or the right not to be eaten…
It’s unusual that you would ever need to write “burger’s.”
Instead, our restaurateur should have written “burgers.” (there are many burgers… more than one… several… plural…)
Here’s another burger place that got the apostrophe right but must have fallen asleep during the lesson on how to make words plural:
HI RYAN !
So , grammar is necessary !!!
Thank You Mr.Ryan
Cheers !
Have a nice weekend !
Gabriel
Yes, in these dark times burger has the only right – to be eaten :-)).
Please tell me if this phrase is correct: I’ve seen many signs with…
Or this one: I saw many signs with…
Yes Ryan, burgers is the correct word, I get it!
I read Vitamin V and laughed (a lot)! My husband came to watch – I tried to explain that burgers have no rights in these dark times… He walked away and shook his head. He clearly didn’t understand.

I read Burger walled stolen really is very fantastic
Ha!
Burger’s taste is deliciuus.. is possible use of apostrrofe..
Yes!
How about the use of “s” in “My son wanted to visit gandmother’s” He loves to be with Grandpa’s?
Hi, I think it should be written hamburger, not burger. But today young people are shortening everything. I dont know exactly the apostrof where should be.
Good examples – easy to remember 🙂
