Monday morning in Vegas.
My niece and her husband and I were visiting the Nevada History Museum.
How can a state that’s only 161 years old have a history museum?
Well, let me tell you…
First, it was at the bottom of a sea.
I remember when I was in college, I was driving through the Southwest and pulled over to get gas.
There was a sign that read, “Dig for shark teeth.”
For a few dollars, you could look through the sand and if you found shark teeth you could keep them.
I found a few.
Second, after the sea dried up, the dinosaurs moved in.
And for a few million years a giant lizard that was a close relative to T-Rex terrorized the other Nevada lizards.
Third, the giant mammals moved in.
Mammoths… sloths… bears… lions… camels…
And finally humans, like Frank Sinatra.
What’s the future of Las Vegas?
It looks good!
While many Americans are fleeing cities like San Francisco, New York City and Baltimore to escape crime and taxes, Las Vegas is booming!
A 115 people a day move to Las Vegas.
There is no state income tax.
And the homeless stay away because they don’t want to melt.

Such a.strange story!
I wonder is this the real history of Nevada?
It’s all true!
Hi,
« And finally humans like Frank Sinatra »
I like that humour very much. You made me blast.
Everything about Nevada history is very interesting.
I imagine a magnificent sunset, giant lizards and T-Rex moving all over the desert in a spectacular ballet with « The voice » as background music… ; )
I’ve seen The cirque du soleil in Paris.
Maybe the show is different now but what I saw a few years ago was already great, fantastic, marvelous.
