I just got back from visiting my tailor.
That’s a sentence I don’t get to say every day!
But in Bangkok, it’s quite normal.
There’s a tailor on every corner.
Walk in off the street and they will treat you like a king.
“Have a seat, sir.” “Can I offer you a drink, sir?” “What kind of fabric did you have in mind, sir?”
And you don’t have to be rich, either.
I just ordered four new shirts.
I picked the most expensive fabric — Egyptian cotton.
The price?
2,000 baht per shirt.
Or €52.
While in Prague, I’ve paid 2,000 kc (€82) for an off-the-rack dress shirt.
So next time you need to go shopping, come to Bangkok!
