Way back in history…
When I was a poor, struggling English teacher…
I decided I needed an internet name.
“Something short… something simple… and something catchy,” I told myself.
I thought about.
And without consulting anyone, I chose…
MR. VIG
Then, years later, (today, in fact) I received this email from a reader:
Hi Mr. Vig, do you know “víg” in Hungarian means “happy”?
This is good news.
Because I can think of a lot worse translations.
Example:
“terrorist”
“internet scammer”
“constipated”
“flesh-eating bacteria”
“world’s worst English teacher”
None of those translations would have been good for business in Hungary.
Thanksgiving is over, but I’m thankful my name means “happy” in Hungarian.
