That was easy.
Yesterday, I asked you how to use the word “welcome.”
Most of you got it exactly right.
Congrats!
But since I promised to tell you a story with “welcome” used correctly, here it is…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
You invited all your friends to your birthday party.
Bob is the first to arrive.
You open the door to let him in.
You: Hey, Bob! You made it. Welcome. Good to see you. Come on in.
Bob: Where’s the beer?
Later, when you’re opening your presents…
You: Oh, Bob. It’s lovely. How did you know I need more beer? Thank you.
Bob: You’re welcome.
HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY
Tomorrow’s a big holiday in the U.S.
It’s independence day.
That means it’s America’s birthday.
And not just any birthday – it’s the 250th!
Here’s a history question for you:
Who did the U.S. win its independence from?
- The evil Mexicans
- The evil Canadians
- The fun-loving North Koreans
- None of the above
What’s the answer?
And how will Mr. Vig celebrate the 4th of July in Bulgaria?
