“Can you issue an invoice so my company can pay?”
This is a question I get a lot.
My reply is, “Sure, but that’s not what you want.”
Let me explain.
In the old days I would travel to a company, sit in the conference room, and wait for the students to arrive.
They would come late… they would come unprepared… they would come while still talking on the phone… and they would leave early.
These were the students who got free lessons from their company.
Then I made a switch.
I started teaching in my apartment and on Skype, and my invoices were paid by the students and not the company.
And the change was huge.
My students are on time… they’re prepared… and as a result their progress is much, much faster.
Nothing is free.
And the price of “free” English from your company is lower motivation and slower progress.
