Did you know that some people in America have stopped saying “Merry Christmas?”
Instead, they say “Happy Holidays” or “Seasons Greetings.”
And once, I saw a message from Facebook wishing me a “Wonderful Winter” – on Christmas Day!
It’s all part of a bigger movement to change the language. (And control people and make the world a more boring place!)
So a black man is now an African American.
A secretary is now a personal assistant.
A maid is a housekeeper.
A fireman or policeman is a first responder.
And when you’re talking about history, instead of writing “Hannibal crossed the Alps in 218 BC” (Before Christ) they will write “in 218 BCE” (Before the Common Era)
Personally, I think it’s all a bunch of nonsense. (Translation: It’s silly.)
People change. Life changes. The world changes.
But some things stay the same.
That’s called “tradition.”
And I like that.
So therefore, I wish a very Merry Christmas to you and to your family.
-Mr. Vig

From Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, people usually say- ‘Shuvo Borodin’ which means- the big day!
In Slowenien we say: Srečen Božič!
Честита Коледа!
In Spain and Venezuela, we say, “Feliz Navidad.” I believe that part of this significant movement to change the language is trying to eliminate Religion. Bad for them. Religion supports our principles, among other things.
