It feels like September here in Prague.
That’s because school just started.
My new school — The School of Speaking.
Participation is at nearly 100%.
And enthusiasm is high.
As we say in English, they’re off to the races!

A QUESTION FROM A STUDENT
During the Skill Stacking live traingins I got this question:
“How do I practice speaking? No one speaks English where I live.”
That made me think of my first year teaching.
I lived about 20 minutes outside the center of Prague.
When I stepped outside my door in the winter morning it was still dark.
I had to walk a few minutes to the tram stop.
I had to wait for the tram.
I had to ride the tram into the center.
Then I had another short walk to the language school where my students were.
That was 2005.
I had to physically travel to teach English.
And my students had to do the same to speak English.
Those were the old days.
Now it’s a different story.
If you wanted, today, you could speak English with a native speaker and never leave your couch.
Everything you need, you already have.
5 TIPS
Have you ever met a native speaker online for lessons?
I’ve been teaching online for a few years already.
And I’ve discovered the technology presents new challenges, as well as opportunities.
That’s why I wrote this short guide: 5 Tips For Online Lessons That Create Fluent English Speakers
Have a look and have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
And after you read my 5 Tips, take a look around my new blog.
Notice something strange?
Yes, that’s right — it looks like crap!
That’s because it’s new.
I almost didn’t share it with you today.
But there’s a speaking lesson here.
Action is better than perfection.
Perfect is impossible.
And tomorrow I will make it better.
