The English poet John Donne said “No man is an island.”
I guess he’s right.
But if you were to say, “Mr. Vig is ON an island”…
You would also be right.
Lessons From An Island
Greetings from my top-secret teaching location!
This month, I decided to escape the noise of the city and get lots of work done in a quiet location.
At the end of the month, I’ll return to the U.S. to see my family at Christmas.
And then… who knows?
Does Your Phone Speak English?
“I don’t have anyone to speak English with.”
Oh, such a common problem.
But your phone can speak English to you.
Let me explain…
I have a VPN.
That means I can click on a country on a map and my phone thinks I’m in that country.
So I clicked on France.
And now the ads I see and the websites I visit all speak to me in French.
Then, one day, I got an email from Linkedin.
Not my favorite website.
Someone I didn’t know wanted me to read something I wasn’t interested in.
Normally, I would click the link that said “unsubscribe.”
But my phone was speaking French to me.
Hmm.
At the bottom of the email I found a link that said “se désinscrire.”
So I clicked it.
Voila!
No more Linkedin emails.
And now I know how to say “unsubscribe” in French.
That, my dear reader, is another example of how you move the classroom.
