One reader had a very interesting reply.
I’ll share it with you here:
“Like someone learning how to swim, the best way is to throw that person in the deep end.
I joined the British military when I was 17 and believe me that was the shock of my life because I couldn’t understand what was being said: different accents from different parts of the UK / Commonwealth.
My instructors saw this so they threw me in the deep end. They used to get me out in front of the class to explain to the rest of the squad what we had to do.
I got over the problem when I stopped caring about making mistakes, and that philosophy I use for everything in life. Want to get ahead? Stop worrying about making mistakes.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Unfortunately, I can’t throw you into the British military.
