I moved into my new apartment yesterday.
This is #4.
Every place has something unique.
The first place was very old and had a lovely tree outside the window.
The second place had old furniture, including a Tesla television.
The third place had a secret door that led to a tower.
And this place?
Well, this place has a gong.
The Story So Far
A quick update for new readers…
I began teaching in Prague in 2004.
Then in 2018 I returned to the U.S. I tried working in an office. I didn’t like it. The world closed because of covid. I stayed in the U.S. a little longer.
But now I’m back.
Although instead of renting an apartment, I’m bouncing around to a new Airbnb rental every week or two.
Maybe I’ll rent something long-term later, but right now I’m enjoying exploring the city this way.
Plus, prices are super cheap because there are no tourists here.
My Relaxing Gong
Here I am striking, or hitting, my new gong.
Gongs are very satisfying.
If you don’t know the sound a gong makes, search on Youtube for “striking a gong.”
It’s hard to be nervous or stressed when you’re listening to a gong.
Hmmm.
Maybe there’s an idea there….
Mr. Vig’s Gong School of English.
It’s simple: whenever you have to speak English — at a business meeting, at a restaurant, on the phone — you just take out your gong, hit it a few times, listen to those calming vibrations, and suddenly you’re relaxed and speaking amazing English.
I think it could work…
