“Be safe.”
“Stay healthy.”
“Stay home.”
“Practice social distancing.”
“No mask? No entry.”
These are the messages that surround Americans in 2020.
Unless you’re lucky enough to live in Sweden, I’m guessing it’s the same
story wherever you are.
It’s like the world suddenly stopped living.
The focus now is surviving.
There’s a big difference between being alive and living.
When you’re in your bomb shelter eating dry rice, you’re alive, but you
can’t call that living.
Maybe it’s not possible to go to a party or to a concert, or even to school or
to work…
But it is possible to make another choice.
You can choose to thrive.
How Sir Isaac Newton Chose To Thrive
Sir Isaac Newton made two choices in 1665.
He was a student at Trinity College, Cambridge when one day a young boy
arrived in town with black spots on his skin and soon after died.
The plague was back!
Newton wisely chose to escape the danger and moved back home to his
family farm.
Then he made another wise choice and got to work.
He invented calculus, experimented with optics, and wrote his theory on
gravitation after watching an apple fall from a tree.
In his journal he called it his “year of wonders.”
While the rest of England focused on merely surviving, Newton thrived.
Which will you do?
Will you spend your free time reading the news and worrying?
Or will you make 2020 your “year of English.”
