If you’re scratching your head right now, you’re probably thinking about a sharp knife and how can a toque be sharp like a knife?
The answer is, it can’t.
Or you might also be wondering how a ski cap can be clever.
Well, it can’t.
That’s also the wrong definition.
As you know, English words have many different meanings.
And here, sharp means something else!

Is the American equivalent for toque a beanie or a knit cap?
Sharp means cool, I think.
It‘s a cool dress… or may be a sexy dress
If we talk about clothes related to fashion, “sharp” means elegant, well cut, that suits well. In the context Doug is giving Bob a compliment about his toque.
When German people say she/he look “sharp”, it means sexy .
I guess Doug finds Bob’s toque cool, classy, elegant, modern….Me too :))
