“Where are you from?”
“I’m from the U.S.”
“No you’re not,” said the American girl I was talking to.
I hear that a lot.
I guess living in Europe and speaking slowly and clearly for 20 years has changed my accent.
So it is possible to change your accent.
But it’s not easy.
And I think you can spend your time on better things.
For example…
Learning new words.
Enjoying TV, podcasts and books.
Meeting new people who don’t speak your native language.
However…
If people ask you “Can you say that again?”
Or if they interrupt you.
Or don’t hear you.
That’s a problem!
But the real problem is usually not your accent.
It’s usually something else.
I’m working on a new course this week that will solve these problems.
It will teach you how to improve your voice.
So that people listen to you, understand you, pay attention to you and respect you.
And yes, I’ll even have some tips on improving your accent.
So watch for that soon.
I’m really curious about what will be in the new course. I can’t wait to find out.
Ok , I’m ready for that..
I am very excited to see, how you can teach us to speak in a way that everyone can understand.
I spent my day don’t take care about accent. I focused to other interesting things. I’m looking forward to learn how improve a voice. Teachers have this problém very often. Cheers, have a discovering evening.
Whatever accent , I believe we can improve our speaking, prononciation.. for being understood .
I know a lot of people learn English when they were adulte and they speak very well.
So I’m looking forward to listen to you how to speak better, Ryan !
All right, it sounds good your idea!
I am looking forward to get some new information about your new course.
I did say earlier that my accent for me doesn’t play an important role to use speaking English language.maybe because I never had any objections from native speakers.
If I had I would have taken care of it. So far I work on more listening, reading, TV watching all in English.
I agree it is very important to speak clearly.
I look forward for new ideas Mr. Big is going to present soon.
