Anyway, recently one of my native speakers quit.
She was living in Bangkok, decided to move back to the U.S. and the new time zone wasn’t going to be convenient for her.
So I had to hire a new native speaker.
And before I hire a new team member, I always want to make sure we’re on the same page.
You see, many teachers believe the best way to learn English is the old way.
They want to teach rules, more rules, and then some more rules.
They want to talk and explain and talk some more.
And they want to correct every single mistake they hear.
I disagree.
My method is totally different.
I tell them: Vig Village members already know a lot of rules.
Now they just need to practice speaking.
And the best way to practice speaking is with people who are friendly and don’t care about your mistakes.
If the native speaker agrees, I know we’re on the same page and that he or she will be a good fit for Vig Village.
