Mountains or ocean?
That’s what we talked about in Vig Village on Saturday.
I said “mountains.”
Too many people and mosquitoes at the beach.
That’s why this is my third summer in Bansko.
But why these mountains….?
Reason #3 to Visit Bansko
It’s a village.
And who do you know in a village?
Well, you know the butcher, the baker and the guy who makes meth in his basement (just kidding).
A village is small.
A village is personal.
You know the people who live in a village.
I can’t walk down the street here without running into someone I know.
I like that.
Stay for a few days or weeks in Bansko, and you’ll make friends, too.
Village Theory
Some people say the best place to learn English is in a school.
Some people say you must download the latest app.
Others will tell you to get a teacher.
I vote for the village.
Learn English in a village?
Absolutely!
I call it Village Theory.
Let’s talk about that this week.
We’ll see if you’re ready.
And if you are, I’ll tell you how this new idea can make you a confident English speaker.
You’ve invented the village theory and now you want to us have an interactive discussion/ process to find new ideas…seems to be interesting, but I didn’t know Bansko is a village, no. I can’t imagine an American teacher leaving in a small village..!
I like the village in general? It’s nostalgic for me because I was birth there!
Oh!…. I was born in a vilage……(I hope it is corect)
Hi, I absolut understand you why it willage you like. I spent a lot of time of my childhood in the village at my groundparents. Village is amazing. It quite ( silence) at the morning, when you hear only birds and cats…Every body known each other. Tach of nature is every where.
It’s a good idea to learn and boost English with neighboors in village))
Wikipedia: Bansko (Bulgarian: Банско [ˈbansko]) is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located in Blagoevgrad Oblast near the city of Razlog.
It’s much more likely to encounter moscitos in the mountain than at the beach.
Anyway, to learn English in the Vig Village is a great experience and it’s truly beneficial. 🌞
“I’m learning that gratitude often begins when we slow down. In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to overlook the small, ordinary things — a shared smile, a quiet morning, the comfort of routine. But when we pause, even for a few minutes, we start to see just how meaningful those ‘obvious’ moments really are. What once seemed banal reveals itself as beautiful.
Often, it’s the simplest things that seem so obvious… so obvious that we pass them by without taking the time to reflect or put them into words. And yet, when we’re lucky enough to cross paths with someone who does — who names and honors those quiet moments — it’s like a ray of light. A breath of joy. A reminder that gratitude is always within reach, for all of us.
Funny how I almost skipped over that one sentence — one that turned out to hold something quietly powerful. Thank you to Ryan for encouraging us to read the comments. They led me to a deeper reflection I didn’t expect — and I’m truly grateful for that.
Because the truth is, we so often forget to say thank you — and yet, there is so much to be thankful for.”
And a special thank to EvaRita …“I want to tell her how much I appreciate the poetry she brings into her everyday life — a gift that allows us to see the world through a different, more beautiful lens.”
Lovely!
I want with they in the this village
So ,tell me how this new idea can make me a confident English speaker . I can’t wait to get a confident speaker.
