Change is good.
It’s good for a homeless person.
And it’s good for a language.
English is changing all the time.
Watch an old movie and the credits will say “screen writer.”
Now it’s “screenwriter.”
Yesterday, I asked you what you wanted to change about English.
One reader voted to get rid of the third person “s.” (ex. she comes, he goes)
Another reader voted to eliminate prepositions.
While yet another reader made the point that rules are not the problem: it’s the exceptions which are confusing.
I agree with you all!
Now I’m going to fix dinner and listen to my favorite song about change.
Have a great weekend!
-Mr. Vig
P.S.
There are a lot of songs about change!
What’s your favorite?
Hallo dear MR Vig, I don t want to change anything in the grammar, because grammar is foundation not only of language, but of our thinking
D Bowie
Changes
Song by David Bowie
Cccc-cchanges!
With rules or without it, my dream to be confident in English does not change🤓
I liked the song, so optimistic, it makes me smile!! The new song for my list🥳
Thanks for an interesting evening read. The verbal flashbacks are jumpy and eventually settle down with a question. For us, of course. What can I say…?
“Can’t change me” Chris Cornell. But I love David Bowie too ❤️
Thank you Mr.Vig.Help,from the Beatles,Where streets have no name U2,…have a nice weekend!
I love Scorpions – the old German band. And my favorite songs about changes: “Wind of change”… I hope this kind of changes can will happens in Russia again…
Wind of change – Scorpions🙂
”Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” by Elton John
I’d say definitely Scorpions – The wind of change. It stands for the end of an era, the communist regime in Eastern Europe.
So funny… I played David Bowie’s song but not using your link, I listened on Spotify instead.. and now Spotify plays the same kind of songs…as suggestions… A lot of good old stuff… I should be thankful to you. Yup-thank you a ton!
Everything changes in our life. We are changing. The world around us. But we try to keep our personal values/ Thank you for your lessons.
