It started off as a good day.
I woke up rested.
The sun was shining.
I did some good work on my laptop then went for a run in the park.
Now I was ready for the long journey ahead of me to Thailand.
But then, as we say in English, the shit hit the fan.
I won’t bore you with all the details, but here’s a list of things that didn’t work today:
the taxi app
my phone battery
my atm card
my airline ticket
and some other stuff
Long story short, Welcome back to Tbilisi!
Ug.
Now here’s the silver lining on this story
Walking down the street at the end of this tragic day, I saw a sign for a Thai restaurant.
“Why not?” I thought.
The coconut soup was tasty, like I remembered from last time in Thailand.
And as I was leaving, one of the Thai ladies from the kitchen passed me.
And at that moment, I remembered my Thai.
KOB KHUN KHRAP, I said. (thank you)
Her smile wasnt big, it was huge.
And she put her hands together, like they do in Thailand, and bowed
What a wonderful finish of the sad story.
Glad ya liked it!
I have the impression that the Thailand food is not very tasty. Maybe from your experience I would find out (from your daily articles) something about the subject. Regards!
On the contrary, it’s one of the tastiest cuisines in the world! You should try it.
Very nice story
Short, clear, nice. After this story of yours I remembered my short stay in Thailand many years ago. Thanks.
Ryan, not everything is bad, you found the other side of the coin: the waiter’s smile, is it not enough?
“The shit hit the fun”, it’s amazing, I’ll never forget it.
Thanks.
Have a good day, if you can 😉
One of my favorite expressions.
