What’s the best way to master English?
It’s not studying hard.
It’s not watching hours and hours of YouTube grammar videos.
And it’s not downloading the newest app from California.
Who Turned Up The Heat?
Where are you today?
Poland?
Hungary?
Estonia?
I’m in Thailand and it’s hot!
I sweat when I sit in a cafe in the morning.
I sweat when I watch the moon at night.
And I sweat when I write Vitamin V.
The Best Way To Master English Is…
Get arrested in America!
I’m serious.
Imagine if you were in a prision.
In the morning, the guards would yell at you in English.
In the afternoon, the guards would yell at you in English.
In the evening, the guards would yell at you in English.
And, of course, there’s your cellmate. (like roommate, classmate, housemate)
You two could have late-night discussions about life, philosophy, veganism – all in English!
You probably wouldn’t even need to stay a whole year.
Just a few months and you’d be chatting like a native speaker.
In English, this is called “immersion.”
Like a fish is immersed in water (translation: surrounded by water)…
You are immersed in the language.
What’s that?
You’ve got a job?
And a family?
And you don’t fancy a life of crime?
Ok.
I understand.
So I’ve got another idea for you.
It’s almost as good as getting arrested.
I’ll tell you tomorrow.
😀 😀 😀
Hi ! Ryan
You are absolutely admirabile.
You are absolutely right,in an English language environment, wether you liked or not, you are forced to learn it.
Conclusion : We will be native English speakers!!!. WOW. !!!
can t wait to hear your alternative method
Hi Mr. Vig!
what a crazy idea! 😂😟 How to be in prison in America? To be surrounded by “English”?
And if the cellmate is Chinese? You choose only with the screams (in English) of the guards. In the morning, at lunch and in the evening. And possibly with some Chinese “Qigong…”!🤣
No, definitely not! I’m waiting for your version tomorrow evening! 👍
Maybe the heat and sweat in Thailand inspired you with this rather crazy idea…In your great way of speaking English fluently😂😂👍.
Otherwise, greetings from Romania with a
wonderful autumn, with mild sun, temperature of 18-20 degrees Celsius and beautiful colors of leaves… With love… from Romania!😍😍
A large number of people are often prisoners without realizing it. They are prisoners in their own thoughts, beliefs, understandings. They just have to imagine that English is their best cellmate. Good idea! I have a roommate starting tonight.👍
Nice black humor👍🙂
Hmm, I think that it is a little true story.. but probably this kind of English would be a little vulgar, verbal language, with courses .. , maybe not .. I remember when first time I was in the USA, in LA, during the first evening I could see young black boy who just was arrested .. in background of a cabriolet .. and my first thought was .. hmm .. it is really like on the American movies .. American dream … 😊🙈. But during my life I could listen to stories from sometimes different kind of prisoners .. these stories were scaring less or more, but pulling too .. and I remember them ..
But I know such story too that somebody was very angry in the prison because prison-mate was speaking in foreign language .. Everything depends on own needs 😊😊🫣😉
It seems to be very interesting this method of learning, ” fish immersed in water” and I think it could be applied to learn many other things; all you have to do is to find what is like the water and next to put into what is like the fish…
Well, anyway, useful vocabulary in this story. One day it might be nessesary…who knows. And good humor as always. And “immersion” is a beautiful English word, I like it.
Greetings from Estonia, the fourth season is about to begin (with a little snow on some days)
Crazy idea! I’m wating for tomorrow’s alternative!
You said very good.
I can’t wait for your new ideas, thanks
I am looking forward to
This is a very funny proposal
Hi everyone! I’m wondering what could be ‘as good as’ getting arrested…
Me too!😟👍
I am waiting . thanks
Hi. I am excited
Hi Mr. Vig! Greetings from Romania whit a wanderful autumn, whit mild sun and beautiful colors of leaves. I think that it is a little true story.
Ok, I’ll wait tomorrow!
I like to be immersed by native english speakers, but don’t like to spend half a year in jail, prison.
Hhaha I love it so funny and exciting 🙂
