Let’s see…
So far this year, I’ve spent one month in the Czech Republic… six months in Bulgaria, ten days in Romania, and now I’m on to my next country.
Although my Romania trip was short — I usually like to spend at least one month in a new place — it was full.
I explored two cities.
I met two students in-person whom I’ve known for years on Zoom.
I toured the heaviest building in the world (the Romanian Parliament building).
And I learned the basics in Romanian — hello, thank you, good bye, etc. —
I always learn the basics when I arrive in a new country; I think it’s polite.
Now I’ll have to go back to work and learn the basics again in my next country.
If only there was a language everyone spoke…
A language you could always use while travelling…
Like a comfortable pair of jeans you can wear anywhere….
Wouldn’t that be nice?
I think English is the language that almost everywhere is spoken and i am sure if i can speak and understand English without stress as now , I will feel very nice like a “comfortable pair of jeans” everywhere i travel. Good english speaking and of course big smile will be enough!
I think English is the perfect language! I love English so much, I’m literally LOVE this language)
Thank you for your wit !!
Next country will be Hungary?
I try to lern new basic words too when I’m in new country on my holiday. It’s pleasure for me when I can see a smile on locals’ faces. They usually appreciate it. 🙂
Have a nice trip, my dear teacher! I thought you would stay in Romania a little longer! I was thinking of inviting you to my city, Brasov. (in Dracula’s Transylvania!!). Anyway, at least for the next 2 weeks, we stay in touch and I will enjoy “English” with your lessons, and the V Vitamins!! Thank you very much.

Exating to see wich is your next country 😊
There is a love language which is common to all 😉
Great. You travel a lot, you learn bssic language of place you travel thrue and you meet your students, you know from school, very intersting life.
Being a little bit older than Brian and living a long period of separation on one side of the Iron Curtain, I can totally understand the importance of the idea, “if there was a commonly used language everyone could speak” all over the world. This idea or even dream is not baseless at all, because exactly this purpose propelled some linguistic experts’ endeavors of constructing artificial languages offering them for common use instead of too many.
If I know well, Esperanto was the most successful and the largest spread among the artificial languages in the early 1900s, and lots of people learned it all around the countries in the European continent. But finally, it failed to become the only, commonly used European language because of the deeply rooted hostility and rivalry felt and busted up against each other by the biggest European states, and the two world wars sorrowfully swept away all these kinds of initiatives.
France
The language tell us a great deal about the people living in the country. If we take away the language, we also take away a part of there culture. In Finland we have two native languages finnish and swedish. There are culture differenses between these groups. And what would MR Vig do if he do not has to teach all of us english? 🙂
It would be great to have one language that everyone would understand. If we look back in history, then a few decades ago, English was not very popular in Europe. Currently, it becomes the language of mutual communication. There would be much less problems in the world if everyone could understand each other in the same language!
ARISTOTELES ONASSIS Said:reading and traveling open a person’s mind(So ,you are very intelligent 🤓 person Mr.V
You have now left Romania, but You could return next winter for ski (Sinaia, Poiana Brasov, etc)
Interesting idea…
THANKS Mr VIG!
You’re welcome!
THANKS Mr VIT!
Hi, mstr. VIG! What is the next country? Do you have a plan yet, mstr. Vig? Or do you come to Spain?
When I travel to Italien I use basic Italien words. It is polite and the Italien people like it.
30 years ago it was not common that Italien have spoken English but now they have developed.
English suits everyone and everywhere
May be the body language?
Hi,
you closed one door and a new one is about to open soon. Only you know in which country is it…Exciting! I have to keep my eyes open…
Good luck!
Cześć. Have you ever been to Poland? Visit my country. English is everywhere. Bye
Now, from Estonia it is not so far…via Vilnius… e.g.
You are very nice teacher. Thank you for all bits of advice.
Come in Srbia, Belgrade…
Are you thinking about Serbia? I think it’ll be ineteresting for you and your way of leaving/teaching. Serbia is nice and interesting, I think it ‘s not so expensiv for staying several months. And it’s not so far away from Romania,:-)
English is this language when you are fluent in it, permit you to be at ease everywhere.
It would be perfect if there was a unique language in the planet, spoken by everyone… The conversation would be very easy and the knowledge and various information for science and civilization very quick. I would prefer an ancient language for this purpose. Thank you for your help to make us utter some words, even in writting!!
It’s great to live so interesting life!😃👍
Yes, this is nice.
If there would be only one language i think it could be boring. A language is like music and there is a lots of variety in music depends on the country and culture you come from.
But luckily there is one or two languages that are international like Spanish and English
I agree with you Michał
Remember Babylon! 😉 How do you like Bulgaria? What words you learn there?
I enjoy reading your country visiting experiences.
Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Roumania now… maybe one country from previous Jugoslav?,,🤔
Yes, it would more confortable for everyone… but we may dream…😅
Great.
Hello, I come late.. and nobody is here…
About the one language for all people.. I think that Greek would have been good choice!
Every language has many words with the roots from Greek and maybe our conversations would have been more interesting, and..,and…😊😊
Its nice to explore new coutry and cities , to learn basic words. it would de nice
