It’s good to be home.
Three weeks ago I returned to the U.S. for a visit.
And what a beautiful time to visit!
The nights are getting cool, but the crickets still come out to chirp.
The leaves are changing colors.
And there’s wildlife everywhere; today I even saw a bald eagle in the sky!
Do you know John Denver?
His song, Country Roads is about this part of America.
If you come to America, or if you come back, and after you visit New York and California and the Grand Canyon, I can recommend Virginia.
It’s a lovely place.
Check it out here: www.virginia.org
But all good things must come to an end.
And I am a travelling teacher.
So the next time you hear from me I’ll be in a new country.
More about that… soon.
I don’t know John Denver…But I’ve seen all USA (without Alaska and Hawaii) like truck driver and I’m falling in LOVE with Virginia…I’m right now at Loves Truck stop Providence Forge…near West Point…Good night Mr.Vig…I respect You…🤗
Thank you for your beautiful and heartfelt today’s post. The song of John Denver about your homeland is very soulful. A poem I studied at school about my homeland came to my mind:
Overhead the eternal Milky Way,
And an eternal road under your feet,
It leads to the land of the lucky,
And it turns out to be home.
(My translation, of course, is not the best…)
I want to re-start your English school. Thanks Mr.Vig!

Have a great weekend too!
I just wonder why the bald eagle is called bald eagle. If I’m not mistaken, he’s not bald.
I was wondering on the same, why the name?
I guess because of the white feathers on his head he looks bald.
Hello, Mr. Vig!
That’s right: Every begining has an end! And between the two limits are lived moments! And if you enjoyed your visit “home”, you charged your “batteries”! Yours and your loved ones there.
Have a good trip to other places, I’m looking forward to your V vitamins. I’m now on my way to Germany, where I’ll try to speak only English! (although I’m a good German speaker!) Let’s see what happens!
And ok! If I arrive in the USA, I will definitely visit Virginia! Thank you!
Greetings and best wishes, my dear teacher!
Hi, I like country roads, this kind of music, particularly in America (USA). I knew the song, but now I have better conotation of the song with Virginia, thx for remembering … 🚖🛶🛞
It is a beautiful solar autumn. As a child I interpreted a character from a well-known poem, “Ballad of a Little Cricket”. I don’t know how it would sound in English. (I also had a cricket suit, made by my grandmother, including antennae 🙂 ). I remember her every autumn. It’s great that we can “travel” with you. Nothing more fitting than this song, I feel like I know it. (I like Dire Straits).💌
Thank you for you work and letters. I like to learn with you and I want to re-start english lessons. Greatings and have a nice trip Dear mr Vig
