Do you know what today is?
It’s a big holiday in America.
It’s a long weekend when people go to the beach… go to the lake… go to the pool… go to the mountains…
They do summer stuff because they’re celebrating the end of the summer.
And soon school starts and the weather changes (unless you live in Hawaii).
It’s called…
Labor Day Weekend!
Don’t feel bad if you didn’t know this.
I haven’t lived in the U.S. for many years.
And I forgot today was a holiday (my dad reminded me on a call).
I even forgot the name of the holiday!
I was talking with some Vig Village members this weekend and I told them it was Memorial Day – wrong holiday.
Woops.
Happy Labor Day!
Yes, but the curious thing is that in the past we were celebrating the return of the summer not its ending….
Happy Labor Day😊
Hi!
I didn´t know that. Happy Labor Day to all Americans!
In Estonia is a tradition to celebrate the end of summer by lighting up bonfires along the Baltic Sea shores. It`s called The Night of Ancient Bonfire. At sunset, thousands of bonfires are lit and it is a beautiful sight.
I think the Labor Day is on the May first, not on the first of September
In Poland September 1th we celebrate really important anniversary of the outbreak of World War II and entire the month September is dedicated of the outbreak of the war
Happy labor day

It is nice holiday, that you celebrate the end of sommer. Long weekend is enjoy for people. It is good and interesting that people from diferent countries have diferent holidays. We had 29.8. a big holiday – Slovak national uprising. It happened in World War 2 in the fight against German fascism. It was a beautiful gala concert of singers, dancers, folklore, a symphony orchestra, a musical streaming on TV.
