I’m on my way back to home #2 – Prague.
And I saw this sign at the Frankfurt airport:
Can you find the mistake?
It’s not an English mistake.
It’s a cultural mistake.
I think it’s a mistake to get rid of Christmas.
For me, it’s not about religion.
(This Christmas, everyone in my family went to church except me; I went for a walk in the woods.)
It’s about tradition.
In a world of fast change, constant progress, and everything new! new! new!…
It’s nice that some things stay the same.
That’s why I like tradition.
That’s why I like to say “Merry Christmas.”
Hi!
Happy holidays is better😁. Festive holidays or season isn’t tradition, maybe something new and modern.
Happy New year then in Prague! And everyone wherever you are…
I will be there on the second day of the New year and come back one day before the orthodox Christmas, on 6th Januar (same like 24th Decembar), according to the old calendar. Christmas in Serbia is on 7th Januar.
But Greeks use the new calendar for orthodox Christmas, like most nations in the world.
I was once in Prague in the summer, before about 15 years.
So I will be frozen😉in Prague and spend holiday or little vacation there.
So we call first days in the New Year holidays.
But in USA only Marry Christmas.
Good night. ✨
What a good choice is a walk in the woods in winter!
On my side I think the woods is the most beautiful church in the world, a place where your inner child is more happy and you can hear more clearly your own thoughts and feel peaceful and quietly and perhaps in this way you genuinely celebrate a happy season festivity.
Yes, woods is the most beautifull church, no, this is cathedral…😉
I totally agree with you!
I think this greeting is simply politically correct. There are many immigrants, foreigners living or working in this country. Germans try to be fair, because if they are not, they are immediately called fascists. It’s quite sad that even in the 21st century this is how people are categorized, but unfortunately this is the fact.
I agree with you Luiza
Hi,
I think it’s not only about Christmas, but also about the comming New Year 😉
You’re right. If we don’t pay attention we won’t recognize anything. We’ll became stranger in our own life.
Merry Xmas and Happy New year coming everybody !!
I think it should written like this “ Happy festivities season” The difference is on lower case letter for two words after Happy.
By the way this is the first time I see this kind of expression. Mostly in use is “ holiday season”.
But as you mentioned changes are possible in many ways.
Welcome coming back home , Rayan!
You are celebrating New Year in your second country.
We live in a society with new changes at grand speed- but I like something traditional.I prefer using “Merry Christmas “and “Happy New Year “
.I think they use “Happy festive season” for a common sense which adapt at Airport like everywhere . It’s the festive season for everybody and not only for catholics.
Hi, welcome in Europe ! You talk very nice – ” It is nice that some things stay the same “. I agree with you. Christmas are about traditions. Christmas tree, honey cakes, advent wreth, candles, christmas songs, gifts, fish with salad or turkey, visit family, visit church or walk in nature and calm at home. These things create Christmas. Only these. Nothing new…I like this time !
I wish you happy last day in this year – Happy Silvester and Happy New year 2025.
”Happy festival season”
”Have a good festival season” ?
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all of you!
I like classic. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Cheers!
Welcome among us Ryan. It’s good to recharge our batterie as a family. Happy New Year’Eve! 🥳🎆
“Merry Christmas, relaxed holidays and a happy new year!” Oops, that would be a very long wish for such a narrow sign…🤷🏼♀️
I agree with you, my feeligs are the same, I am not religious nor is my family. Cristmas is only un ocasion for metting all togueder, brothers and sisters, grandmother, grandchildrens.

There used to be an old saying in European Culture: “When you go to Rome, live like the Romans.” This has changed due to mass immigration.Today in Western Europe, the
” Romans” adapt to the arrivals. The big question is: is this the case in other parts of the world, for example in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and other countries as well?
Mr.VIG you travel a lot around the world, what is your experience with this?
Yes, tradition provides us well known circumstances, which is calming and comfortable. At least for a while :-))).
So Happy new year to all people from Vig village! And regards to Mr. Vig :-)!
