Have you met Crazy Bob?
Crazy Bob does things that are, well, a bit crazy.
Example…
Crazy Bob wants to become an English speaker.
He recently took a trip to Cleveland with some friends and was disappointed with himself.
He saw his friends talk to the locals, the taxi drivers, the hotel staff… they made it look so easy.
Bob just watched.
Once, his wife even had to tell the waiter what he wanted to eat because the waiter couldn’t understand him.
And he just wanted a pizza!
A Crazy Plan
What is Crazy Bob’s plan to become an English speaker?
First, he’s going to learn the Power Words.
That’s a good start.
Next, he’s going to add daily listening.
Very good.
And finally, in order to become a better speaker he is….
Not going to speak!
Step Five
You see now why we call him “Crazy Bob.”
Improving your speaking without speaking?
Well, that’s just crazy.
If you want to play tennis better, you’ve got to hit more balls.
If you want to play the piano better, you’ve got to play more songs.
And if you want to speak better, you’ve got to start more conversations.
Don’t be like Crazy Bob.
Say, “Hi” every day.
Only practice makes confident…I agree with you. Sometimes it’s very challenging, but it’s worth it…✌
Thank you, Ryan for the wonderful tips and tricks.
Crazy Bob…I don’t know, but I wonder who says English is a boring language?
Thank you for your storys!
You’re welcome!
Hi, crazy Bob, what he does in the flashcards, or his decisions, always make me laugh. In teaching I sometimes feel like him…I see that I need listening much more. Thank you for your all the advice.
Hi, Ryan!
I have had many bridges to cross in this journey of speaking English. Thank you for your patience.
Hi,
I had the same bad humiliating experience in LA, about four years ago and I promised myself to do something about my English. But everything was useless until, by chance, I came across Mr Vig on Instagram… and everything changed with my new topic : trying to understand native speakers and trying to speak English. I’m on my way.
Thank you so much.
