Would you rather be the smartest person in the room…
Or just sound like the smartest person?
The first option might not be possible.
The second option only takes a few seconds.
Here’s how:
Use words other people don’t know.
Instead of saying your competitors are stupid, call them troglodytes.
Instead of saying you need to receive a shipment by the second-to-last day of the month, say you need it on the penultimate day.
Instead of reminding the client that he hasn’t paid yet, tell him his payment is outstanding.
“Whoa, this guy must have gone to Harvard,” is what the other person will be thinking.
And it’s a lot faster than actually going to Harvard.
