Last winter I was in Mexico.
There were a ton of Americans and Canadians there.
This winter I’m in a ski town in the Pirin Mountains.
And here, there are a ton of Brits.
How do I know they’re British?
That’s easy.
When they speak, they make noises with their mouths.
And then they say, You know what I mean?
If the person is making noises, but doesn’t end the sentence with, You know what I mean? then the person is probably Bulgarian or Russian or Italian.
But definitely not English.
So that’s how you speak British English!
Step One: Open mouth
Step Two: Make noise
Step Three: Say, You know what I mean?
Ta da!
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
For bonus points, try to make your noises sound more like the Queen.
(When she was alive.)
😁😁😁
I already heard “You know what I mean? in same situation you mentioned. It is very new for me. I think will be a bad habit for a lot of people.
I didn’t knew British makes a loud 😂😂
Well, well it is so easy to speak English like a local British… Mr. Vig, it sounds to me just like to learn to play this traditional bulgarian dance (by the way from Bansko region). Don’t miss the opportunity to try “kapama” and “banski starets” and enjoy your stay! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT5JB6gcUeI
Are those dances or Bulgarian dishes?
