Dracula.
You know the story, right?
He’s the guy with the long teeth who likes a little blood in his iced latte.
Well, did you also know…
- According to the legend, Dracula lived in Transylvania …which is in Romania!
- The English writer, Bram Stoker, created the legend… but he never visited Romania!
- The character in the novel Dracula was based on a real king named Vlad the Impaler… who was was the first person to write the word of the city Bucharest!
- Vlad liked blood, but not in his iced lattes.
Isn’t that interesting?
I learned all that from a free walking tour.
Now here’s what the city of Bucharest would like you to know:
the sign outside the remains of Vlad’s palace in Bucharest
If you have trouble understanding that — if you fell asleep after the third line — don’t worry, the English is terrible.
And before all my lovely Romanian readers send me a go-back-to-America email, it’s the same all over the world: history museums… historical markers… they don’t want to tell you an interesting story you can bring back home; no, they want to bore you to death.
How To Write Well
Follow these simple rules and you will write better than most college-educated native speakers:
- use simple words
- use short sentences
- make your ideas clear
- only write about what’s interesting or important to your reader
Thank you very much! Its all very interesting for me!
Very interesting your visit, thank you for the quidance👏

Hello!
It was nice! I love my country and I love the Dracula story, the Romanian legend.
Yes. You are right and it’s what I admire on you since very start knowing you.
Awesome! I agree with this statement and the 4 advisees. It’s the same with scientific texts which some authors call “literature”, but nobody is excited about them… In my opinion, it’s necessary to provide interesting writing also in research articles and papers.
Well… interesting
Thank you. Will try my best.
I am glad I was able to read the French translation… but why is each word I write underlined in RED ?
