This week, we’re talking about beauty.
Have you heard that expression before?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It means, if you think something is beautiful, that’s just your opinion.
Someone else may find it ugly.
And vice versa.
Both opinions are valid.
Beauty is relative.
I say, rubbish!
Just like our ears know when a musical chord is played correctly or incorrectly, our eyes know when beauty has been created.
What do you think?
CHEAP. CHEAPER. THE CHEAPEST.
Walking around the center of Prague, your breath is taken away looking up at the Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Cubist, Gothic, etc. architecture.
But then go onto an apartment rental website and take a look inside the apartments.
You’ll see boring white walls, cheap tiles, Ikea art and plastic furniture.
One generation built the city; a very different one decorated the interiors.
But don’t think I’m just picking on my adopted city.
It’s worse in the US.
In fact, we have a new word just to describe the cheap houses popping up everywhere.
McMansions.
Perfect!
