Last week I attended Bansko Nomad Fest 2023.
I had no idea I would meet so many interesting people!
And I had no idea my unusual lifestyle was so popular!
I met a Japanese guy who’s building a community for nomads in x Japan
I met a Korean woman who runs a community for nomads in Seoul.
I met a Swiss guy who bought three hotels in Switzerland and is making them “homes” for nomads.
And just five years ago, there were no nomads in Bansko. Today, there’s one co-living hotel, three co-working offices with seven locations, and a festival that attracts almost one thousand nomads.
According to the website twoticketsanywhere.com, there are 35 million digital nomads in the world!
Nomad Dictionary
Here are some words you’ll need if you want to talk to a nomad:
co-working: when you join an office with other nomads, kind of like joining a gym
co-living: when you live in a house or hotel with other nomads, usually you have your own room, but share the kitchen and living room
slomading: when you spend several months in a country instead of just a few days or weeks
a freelancer: someone who doesn’t have a full-time job and just works on individual projects
remote work: when you work for a company but you don’t go to the office
a visa run: when you leave a country just for a day or two so you can return with a fresh stamp in your passport
What Do You Think?
Could you do it?
Would you do it?
Why or why not?

Very exciting, indeed! Why not be a digital nomad? I see many advantages, like remote work, a freelancer, and slomading. Great dictionary! Thanks!
Very interesting idea and way of life. I start thinking about it? I like travelling and communicating with other people.
Thanks for sharing this useful information and new words. 🙂
I’d like to work in the U.S. as freelancer, but it is very complicated. It is permitted only 3 months. 🙁 But I know….baby steps first. 😉
Goood evening mr Vig. I like your way use the experience in Boulgaria.
I like your method teaching english also.
Maybe once. I dont know
Hello Mr Vig,honestly I think this kind of nomad life’ îs only for people till 65 years old with a specific education and culture, and ofcourse with enough money to be nomad! In my country only gypsy are nomads and they are all over the world but not digitalising they are in fact nomads!
True… Most nomads have sheep, not laptops.
It is petty that people are working in this way…
This kond of work is my sun and target for future. I ‘m working this kond of work intensive more than one year.I thuink/hipe I will success to find remote job.
I musn’t have niomad kind of life, but work maust be that,:-)
Nomads or not nomads, we are all humans. Every person is created to be unique. Nomatic lifestyle is definitely interesting and exciting, bat not for me. I need a routine or I lose myself. However, I believe their life is very rich (I don´t mean money).
Like an adventure sounds good, dear Ryan..
“WHoa, …we move in Paris”( a movie with Leonardo Di Caprio), but. we just forgot to mention the hard things, that not sounds good, that sounds wrong and next will see…
Yes it’s interesting! It has lot of positve things: traveling , vandering , meeting a new friends , working at kitchen table anywhere in the world, sharing kitchen and living room . It’s exciting for people whithout family ( children) , it’s much easier for them. It depends also of your job what are you doing – for living , earn money.?! Are there also bad things of nomad life style ? Let me know ?
Hi,Thanks for new words.I don’t think will meet in Bucharest the “Nomads” although are many gypsys.
It is an attractive challenge
Some of occupations have advantanges and disadvantanges like remote work you could work in home quite but on the other hand you can not communicate with other partners
co living is good because you live with others and you dont feel lonely change opinions but I dont like to share the living room and the kitchen with a lot of people because I dont feel convinience
I would like to be freelancer because you dont work full time and work individual projects so you feel more free without stress
