I’ve travelled the world.
In the last two years I’ve been to Athens, Tbilisi, Bucharest, Istanbul, Dubai, Sofia, Prague, Podgorica, Helsinki, Tallinn and a few more places.
And when I’m in a new city, I like to check out their shopping malls.
But there’s no need for you to get off your couch!
Because I can tell you right now what the shopping malls of the world are like.
They’re all the same.
It’s a formula that’s been copied in city after city.
Except…
Welcome to Chiang Mai
I’m in a new city this month.
Tonight, I’m going to meet some friends and see a Muay Thai boxing match.
But first, I needed some groceries.
So off to the mall I went!
“Nothing new to see here,” I thought.
But I was wrong!
As I approached the entrance, I saw that the security guard was opening the door for everyone.
And – he was saluting the shoppers as they walked in!
Like every person was the president!
Wow.
And people say that Americans are polite….
Hi Ryan !
I’m glad you are in Chiang Mai city, where you will spend few weeks.I hope from You news about this city .
I think you will have an interesting experience in this town.
I wish You a wonderful weekend at boxing match.
I don’t know too.many things about this Asian country but I find it is an interesting habit to be saluted when you get in a shopping mall and yes,Asia people are very polite. The same situation happens when you get in some cultural institution in Europe, but different continent, different habits!
Have a great weekend, Mr.Vig!
Saluting the perplex comming in, nice
There are security guards in most of leading shopping malls in Srilanka.( In main cities)
I think it’s good to be different sometimes. Word salut comes from Latin and meant hug/kiss. So, ‘Salut’! Beautiful weekend!!!
Well, every habbit has it’s own tradition and justification. Salutiong i nice from everyone and everywhere.
Wow intersting travel !!!! You feel happy when you visit a country and the people are polite
Being polite and saluting your fellow human beings is an example of civilization, when it is not a result of servitude, a remnant of the imperialism of some countries!!!
Have a great weekend, Mr.Vig!
Maybe every person is a president.. Every person with peaceful attitude.. I would add
Hi Ryan,
the boxing match is over, I hope it was something special.
Enjoy everyday’s beautiful moments, frendly people and make good memories in Thailand. I look forward many interestig stories😊
Wow! how nice! how good the shoppers may feel.
