On the road again
Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
-On the Road Again
lyrics by Willie Nelson
Today is a travel day.
Where am I going?
I’ll give you a hint: It’s a country where a lot of people speak English.
But it’s not my kind of English.
They use strange words like “lorry” and “chips” and “mate.”
And when you walk into a store, instead of asking “How are you?” they ask “You alright?”
I hope I’ll be able to understand them.
Maybe I’ll watch some Monty Python or episodes of Kitchen Nightmares on the plane.
Where am I going?
Share your guess on the blog.
You can also share your favorite word /s from this country.
And tomorrow, I’ll keep my ears open for new, strange words I can teach you from this land.

Where could you go by plane? Perhaps in one of postcommunist countries like Poland, Finland, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova or in my Bulgaria. Most people of these countries need to learn English because now they have the possibility to travel all over the world and they could finally realize their dream.
I think Finland does not belong to the group of post communist countries. All the others do.
Yes, Csilla , you are right. This was my mistake. Sorry.
Wow Ryan, I forgot the most important wish – “Have a pleasant trip wherever you go”
Of course in England

England, UK.
Some other BE words: floor instead of storey, flat instead of apartment, autumn instead of fall, and many more…
