I’ve decided to track down a girl I haven’t seen or spoken to in 37 years.
Will I be able to find her?
Will she be happy I found her?
Will she call the police?
We’ll find out.
Or maybe it would be better to…
LEAVE THE PAST BEHIND
“You can never go home.”
Have you ever heard that expression?
George Orwell wrote about this idea in a novel called “Coming Up for Air.”
In the book, the main character is a middle-aged man who is unsatisfied with his life.
He becomes nostalgic for his childhood and decides to revisit his hometown.
But it turns out to be a mistake.
Everything had changed.
It wasn’t at all how he remembered it.
So maybe it’s best to keep nice memories as they are.
Maybe 2026 Alisa is a fat man on death row.
Maybe it’s better, as we say in English, to leave the past behind.

When you find her, what will you do next? What would you like to talk about with her? I do not need answers. I only try to tell you – you should have a plan, because she definitelly will ask why you contacted her. I do not consider its because you found her phone number in a college book and forgot on it, so after many years later… 🙂 Good luck.
sorry but there is something that I don’t understand, Alisa is a man or woman? and the past is what we lived or what someone are thinking we lived? I really think that if someone say to you to leave the past, and the nearest past too, there is something wrong not in our story but in the storytelling
and we really know in the present, the main sport now is to change the story with the power, I don’t love all I did in the past only because I love the idea to be not perfect in everything
I love the dream and the past is a part of dream, but I love my dreams not the others
